The Luminor Marina was released in 1993, before then, Panerai watches had been available only to military forces. The model achieved staggering international success, partly because of the design which was linked to the exclusive original, featuring a new cushion case shape, a sub-dial, and crown lock. It’s built to be waterproof up to 300 meters (1,000 feet), the hour markers are luminescent, so they glow brightly and make it easy to tell the time even in low light conditions and a sapphire crystal glass to keep it protected from scratches.
